## Diminishing Returns
Ever thought about why when we start things, we are very enthusiastic to begin it and eventually the enthusiasm seems to fade away?
Well, I’ve been thinking about this, and it has to do as a cause of diminishing returns.
We as humans need gratification or in simpler terms an appreciation to keep doing something. And often when we decide to start of with something new, be it making writing into a habit, sketching, designing, personal projects, etc. we often loose interest because it doesn’t give instantaneous gratification, like posting a post on Instagram would give, with people liking quickly and also adding comments and views, that makes us do it more. More often than usual, to a point one becomes hooked.
Well, this can be tackled, by using methods to make your progress visible to the world at all times, like the approach I utilise with this website as a product of my effort of “learning in public”.
See all in all, we want to be heard, and for people to hear you, you need to start communicating, little progress goes a long way.
