There are two kinds of object. One is public. One is private. Pick up a pen, see it as a pen that’s one object and imagine the same pen in your mind. That’s another object, but they both are it. One is gross, one is subtle. Sukshma and sthula —- Maya is Space - here and there Time - then and now Object - this and that So it seems to be, clearly a universe of difference. Otherwise this universe won’t be possible. This “it” won’t be possible without difference. So Maya creates or appears as difference. And then Brahman appears as all objects, this time and space, all objects separate by time and space as a dynamic universe. Vivekananda put it this way: The universe is the wreckage of the infinite on the shores of time space and causation. That which is one, appears as many. Why? Because of time, space and causation. That which is perfect appears as imperfect. That which is unchanging, appears as the changing. That which is ever full filled appears as the ever striving. Then what is this time space and causation? They have even less existence than the objects , they’re like ghosts. That’s the peculiar power by which consciousness projects itself as it’s own objects. How it does? It’s the power of consciousness. Chitvilasa - The vibration of consciousness What does consciousness do? It experiences, thats all it does Things appear in consciousness, which is called Chitvivadta Chit means consciousness and vivdta means appearance. It means appearance of something without actual transformation, consciousness is not being transformed, not being vibrated, nothing Chinmaya- pervaded by consciousness Whatever is an appearance is consciousness must be pervaded through and through by consciousness Everything in your dream, all the people, the objects, its all your dreaming mind, its being pervaded through your dreaming mind. Our universe of experience is pervaded through and through by the consciousness in which it is experienced. Pervasion can be of two types : You light an agarbatti and its smoke will entually pervade the room. There is a room and a space which is pervaded by incense. Or I switch on the light, instantly the light spreads across the room. The room existed earlier and the light pervades the room. (Go with the second one for grasping) —- Chinmatra (consciousness only) - Universe pervaded by consciousness means universe is nothing but consciousness. —— Consciousness, if it has an attribute, that attribute will become an object, if it has an activity it will become an object, if it has a vibration, it will become an object. So it is just an appearance of consciousness or in consciousness. Consciousness appearing to itself. But every appearance is pervaded by what it appears in. And that appearance is like that brass and the bowl, through and through consciousness only, what is through and through consciousness only? This universe.
